About Adrienne and her art

I make art because I love the process of creative discovery -- experimenting with materials, techniques, and color until my canvas takes on an interesting life of its own. I rarely strive for a realistic representation and often just start with a color, some texture, a brush stroke, a strip of painted tissue paper, then add and subtract intuitively until I discover my painting. My inspiration comes from my personal journey, from the natural world, and from the stories of world mythologies. I'm fortunate enough to live in a beautiful, peaceful setting on a lake in North Carolina with my husband Robert and two chocolate labs.
About these paintings
All paintings are originals, not prints. They are not framed. The mixed-media paintings are on gallery-wrapped, stretched canvas, with finished edges and can be hung without a frame. The watercolors are on heavy watercolor paper.
