About Adrienne and her art

​

I make art because I love the process of creative discovery -- experimenting with materials, techniques, and color until my surface takes on an interesting life of its own.  I rarely strive for a realistic representation and often just start with a color, some texture, a brush stroke, a strip of painted tissue paper, then add and subtract intuitively until I discover my painting. My inspiration comes from my personal journey, from the natural world, and from my imagination. I work in my home studio in Durham, NC.

 

About these paintings

 

All paintings are one of a kind originals in acrylic, oil and cold wax, or mixed-media. Some contain collage elements, mostly painted papers.  Captions will indicate if they are framed and ready to hang.
